After Hueblein International granted the Myers family an exclusive franchising contract, they established Restaurants of Jamaica (ROJ) on June 18, 1975 with the official opening of the first local KFC restaurant at 170 Old Hope Road in Kingston 6. Having obtained the authorization of YUM!, the global franchisor, in addition to KFC, today Restaurants of Jamaica has Pizza Hut in its franchisee portfolio as well. The new additions to the family of restaurants made in October 2009, brings the total number of KFC restaurants on the island to thirty-two. They are represented in eleven of the island’s fourteen parishes: St. Ann, St. Catherine, Clarendon, St. Elizabeth, St. James, Manchester, St. Mary, Portland, Westmoreland as well as in Kingston and St. Andrew. Four of those parishes have five different restaurant locations each.
